American Jewish Congress Calls for more Gun Control

In a recent Editorial this writer was struck by the incredulity of a Rabbi calling for gun controls or at least implying the subject.
Now American Jewish Congress President Jack Rosen has legitimized that subject (gun control). Rosen has begun an Internet petition drive in the name of American Children. The fact that "children" are being used in the same context as gun control should be a red flag to all as it has been used in every case to justify more government intrusion into the lives of all Americans.
Rosen’s petition would require several new legislative laws:
 | All gun buyers pass a US dept. Of Justice background check. (Not required at this time). |
| Licensing of all gun buyers before gun purchase. (Not required at this time). |
| Registration of firearms by gun dealers. (Used to identify gun owners of a firearm used in a crime). The NICS is now taking heat because they were not going to immediately destroy background check information after the check was complete. |
| Require gun manufactures to install safety devices on all firearms. |
Aaron Zelman of Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, thinks differently. He says that the constitutional right to keep and bear arms would better serve our children. He reminds us that the Wiemar Republic (the government that preceded the Nazi regime) registered guns as a way to keep firearms out of the hands of the criminals. When the Nazis took over the government, they used that list to confiscate all firearms. They then rounded up all Jews and exterminated them.
The right to keep and bear arms was not put in the Bill of rights for hunters, target matches or to put food on the table. It was put there for the United States of America to remain free of tyranny. The founders felt it important enough to make it second only to free speech.
Yes I know, you think a dictator, tyranny … it can’t happen here! Sadly it can. In fact it’s already started. The Jack Rosens of the world are making it happen. Well meaning, duped or actively campaigning to repeal the second amendment, they have an impact on citizens that take for granted a free America. They petition lawmakers to do something, pass more laws, and make it safe for all. More laws mean less freedom in the general sense. In the gun control issue it only means the eventual demise of the second amendment.
Never give away that right for more security. The criminals will ALWAYS be able to get guns. Will you be able to depend on the police to protect you against an armed intruder? Believe me there will be lots of armed criminals after guns are banned. They will feel invincible and with good reason; there will not be enough cops to be everywhere. Crime will skyrocket just like in Australia where guns were banned a short time ago. All manner of crime is up, from robberies to rape. There had been a rumor that perhaps Australia will reinstate the right for citizens to arm themselves. But more probably government will use the out of control crime rate as a excuse to "crack down on crime with curfews, reduced personal freedoms and more government until the citizens have no more right to anything except to do whatever the government tells them.
Remember George Orwell’s fictional novel 1984? In a recent study of the 137 prediction of the "total surveillance future" predicted in the novel more than 100 have been fulfilled according to Science fiction writer David Ross. Great Britain is now the capitol of Camera type surveillance. Newham in East London is even scanning facial features of everyone that passes by the camera.
The above sounds like a totalitarian state but the UK is a "free" government. Remember the government will take as much as you give. So guard you freedoms!
