A.V. Horton This one happened on August 10 or 11. This time, there is no significant major news coverage. Why not? Well, here is the short version of the event. A 50 year old truck driver arrived at a business to drop off some cargo. As he emerged from his truck, two men engaged him in conversation. They asked if he would give them cigarettes, and he apparently did so. One then asked if the truck driver would let him talk to a friend on the CB radio. The driver again agreed to the request and as he reached into the cab for the mike was greeted by a pistol pointed in his direction. The driver was an armed citizen and he brought his .25 caliber pistol out of the truck and fired over his shoulder. The man with the gun ran and the other went for his weapon. The driver delivered a bullet to the second man’s neck, promptly putting a stop to the criminal attack. This story ends more like what the founders had in mind when they wrote the Second Amendment to our Constitution. The only remaining problem for the truck driver is defending himself against a frivolous lawsuit by the damaged criminal or an attack by the anti-gun crowd demanding prosecution for his "unreasonable" actions. The possibility of facing this nonsense is still better than being murdered by the thugs. |
