There is a political movement underway that might, just might, successfully destroy the Sixteenth Amendment, the "Gestapo" IRS, and the immoral income tax collection by the Federal Government. This is a bipartisan effort started by Representatives John Linder (R-GA) and Collin Peterson (D-MN). They are calling the movement "FairTax" and have an information hotline at 1-800-FAIR TAX and a website at www.fairtax.org.

Their plan is to initiate a ground-swell citizen movement reacted to by a group of legislators (in equal numbers of Republicans and Democrats). The plan involves a national sales tax on purchases of new goods and services for personal consumption. The tax rate is envisioned at about 23%. At first glance this rate seems high; however, goods and services costs will be reduced by about 20% as a result of the elimination of embedded effects of the income tax system – leaving a net tax of only 3%. Who needs a net tax of "only 3%"? The rest of the story: You get to keep and spend your whole paycheck – as you see as appropriate!!!

We urge you to take a look at this proposal and get involved in the movement. We had the privilege to hear these two representatives make their presentation last week. They have done their homework and have thought through their proposal very completely. Let’s make April 15 just be another day!!!
